Challenges and opportunities of the blue economy
The day’s agenda was dominated by the 2nd International Blue Economy Congress, a key event to promote institutional cooperation and debate the financing mechanisms necessary for the growth of the maritime sector, which forms part of the Valencia Boat Show programme, and is organised by the Inter-University Chair in Blue Economy directed by Fernando de Rojas, made up of the Universitat d’Alacant, the Universitat Miguel Hernández d’Elx and the Regional Ministry of the Environment, Infrastructures and Territory.
This conference brought together national and international experts, authorities and representatives of public and private institutions to discuss the challenges and opportunities offered by the blue economy in the Valencian Community and the Mediterranean.
During the congress, a manifesto was presented that includes proposals aimed at developing a blue economy strategy for the Valencian Community, an initiative that seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of the sector, promoting innovation, environmental protection and sustainable development.
An event that brings together the sector
The main national and international nautical companies are coming together this week in Valencia to present new products, showcase products, and publicise services and activities. During the five days of the event, meetings and presentations will be held, bringing together brands, institutions and leading agents from the nautical sector.
One of the great novelties this year is the section dedicated to industrial boating and professional services, which has been very well received by exhibitors and where you can also find the offer of marinas and ports, including Valencia Mar, co-organiser of the event and Valencia Port Marina, new concessionaire of the space in La Marina de València.
Coinciding with the Valencia Boat Show, the outboard engine brand Mercury, distributed by Navaltec, held its annual convention in Valencia, which was attended by 70 dealers from Spain and Portugal. Vetus, a leading company in innovative products for pleasure boats and small commercial vessels, also took advantage of the dates of the show to hold a convention with agents of the brand from all over the Valencia region, organised by Vetus Spain and Berto Talleres Navales.
With a 30% growth and 47,221 m2 of exhibition space, the 15th edition of the Valencia Boat Show has made a quantitative and qualitative leap that ensures a solid project for the future.
